Zazu arrives, heralding the arrival of the king. Despite the enormous turnout, Mufasa's younger brother Scar purposefully does not show up, as he is angered at being replaced as the next in line to the throne.Īfter the ceremony, Scar laments how he is no longer first-in-line for the throne. The gathered animals erupt into cheers and bow before their future king. He then takes Simba into his arms and holds him up atop Pride Rock for the Pride Landers to see. Rafiki smears gourd juice and sprinkles sand across Simba's forehead, formally anointing him as Mufasa's heir. Timon and Pumbaa continue their journey and find a new home near Pride Rock. The animals at the front see this and believe that the fallen animals are bowing, and soon, they all bow together, too. When Timon and Pumbaa walk through the herd of animals witnessing the presentation of the new-born Simba, Pumbaa becomes a victim of his demophobia-triggered flatulence problem and the terrible smell makes a few animals collapse. When all the guests have assembled, Rafiki, the Royal Mjuzi of the Pride Lands, makes his way through the crowd and climbs Pride Rock, where he embraces Mufasa and meets Simba. Zazu, Mufasa's majordomo, arrives and bows before Mufasa. The Pride Landers gather below Pride Rock while Mufasa overlooks the crowd. Despite the excitement of the Pride Landers, Scar misses the presentation of Simba.
